This 4 Port PCI IEEE 1394 FireWire 400 Adapter Card turns a motherboard PCI slot into four IEEE 1394a FireWire 6-pin female ports (1 internal, 3 external) - a cost-effective solution that lets you connect any FireWire 400 device that uses a 6-pin connector to your desktop computer.

Hello. I was using Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 audio interface with VIA 1394 pci card on Windows with OHCI 1394 Legacy firewire driver, now on OS X i can't make it work, I tried some other audio device on OS X, which is working properly with Legacy driver and with glitches with standard driver on Windows, it was working with glitches on OS X which means, that OS X fw kext is something more like a standard driver. I cannot find the Legacy alternative for any version of OS X starting from Lion and finishing with Yosemite. Please help!

I have installed a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 (audio interface) on my Powermac G5 (late 2005) Dual 2.0 with 3.5 Gb Ram, OSX 10.5.8 - I also have Logic Pro Studio 8 installed on my Mac. When I try to open Mix Control (Saffire program), I get a message of 'No Hardware Connected' - Upon opening: About This Mac> More Info> Hardware>Firewire>Device Tree, I see 'Unknown Device'. Does this mean my firewire ports (two 400 and one 800) are not supported, and need drivers?
The Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 is not acknowledging the firewire connection to the computer (although, the unit powers up from the firewire connection, and Logic Pro Studio is not Seeing the Saffire in the Audio Preferences list. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
